Retiree Medical Grant to Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Conversion

As part of negotiations between labor groups [including Courts & Special Districts] and the County, and approval from the County’s Board of Supervisors, OCEA-represented employees are converting from the Retiree Medical Grant to a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).

The County will contribute to a HRA for OCEA-represented employees starting Mid-2023. Eligible employees can choose to keep their Grant frozen at its current value or receive a one-time contribution, based on the value of their grant, to their new HRA. Below is a timeline of events and resources to assist eligible employees in making this election.

The Employee Benefits website will have the most up-to-date information, so continue to check back as more details become available.
