County of Orange employees can obtain wage and employment verifications through WAGEverify when applying for a loan, buying a car, renting an apartment, and other needs. is available to verifiers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Here’s How it Works:

  1. County of Orange’s payroll department securely transmits wage and employment information to WAGEverify at the end of each payroll period so the information stays current.
  2. When you apply for credit or other services where employment verification is required, you provide consent for the creditor to verify the information when signing the application.
  3. The verifier uses WAGEverify to obtain your wage and employment information.
  4. The verifier must report a permissible purpose for requesting the information, as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  5. The verifier can obtain your information within seconds, accelerating the decision process and helping you obtain the credit you deserve.

    -No, employees in the Eligibility Worker Unit must contact their department’s HR and Payroll office for wage and employment verifications.
  3. Does it verify information for employees that no longer work for the County?
    -Yes, WAGEverify can verify former employees that no longer work for the county as long as they were employed after 1/1/2017.
  4. Does it verify Personal Services Workers?
    -Yes, Personal Services Contractors who are paid through the County’s payroll system are included in WAGEverify.
  5. What do I do if my verifier doesn’t use WAGEverify and/or cannot get the information they need?
    --You can instantly pull your own wage and employment data through WAGEverify by following the steps above, and then giving the report to your verifier. If your verifier won’t accept that report, you may contact WAGEverify customer service and they will work with the verifying agency directly.
