Information for Retirees

New Retirement or recent Attaining Medicare Events

If you recently retired, became Medicare eligible, you and /or your eligible dependent, had a change in life that affects your benefits your event may be in the process of being transitioned from the old Benefits Center to the new Benefits Service Center. You will receive your event notification shortly after June 1, which will allow you the required time to make elections if needed.

If you were went a package and did not make your elections prior to 5/55/2020 please call the Benefits Service Center at 1-833-476-2347 and a representative can assist you ( in some cases further research and data verification may be required before you make final elections, however a representative will escalate for research and resolution).

If you made an election and received a correct Confirmation of Benefits your 2020 coverage, nothing further is required from you at this time. To verify coverage you can call or visit the My OC Benefits™ at mybenefits.ocgov.com.


Monthly Direct Billing - New retirees:

You may have been sent an invoice from the former Benefits Center in April for May coverage.  If applicable, the new Benefits Service Center will mail your next invoice around June 15, which will be for June and July coverage. If due to timing and you retired in March yet did not receive an invoice mid-April, you can expect your invoice mid-June. Please note this invoice can include April thru July coverages. 

If payment for May coverage was not received by the given deadline, you will have coverage cancelled back to May 1, 2020.
